Is it necessary to pay anything to confirm the reservation?
Yes. A deposit, equivalent to 30% of the total rental amount, is required for the reservation to be confirmed and the van to be allocated to the desired location. Especially during the high season, we can not guarantee the availability of the van without this deposit. During check-in, the remaining 70% of the reservation amount must be paid.
What payment methods are allowed?
We accept almost every debit and credit cards . Upon arrival, you can use the same card that you used for the reservation, to pay the remaining 70% of rental total amount. A credit card will be required at the time of check-in of the van to ensure the security deposit.
Are there any hidden / indirect costs?
.No. All costs mentioned in the booking confirmation are final. There will be no surcharges or hidden costs if the reservation is not changed. In case of accident or damage, the maximum amount charged will be equal to the security deposit previously confirmed.
Please note that fuel costs and tolls are the responsibility of the lessee.
Are there any minimum booking periods?
The minimum reservation period is 2 nights. During the summer months and high seasons, the minimum booking period is usually 5 nights. However, we will always try to accommodate any request, subject to availability.
How is the night rate calculated?
The nightly rate is the rate that the rental company charges which includes basic insurance, 24/7 travel assistance and VAT. This rate may vary seasonally, promotions or other rental conditions.
What do I need to bring when I check in at the motorhome?
When you check in the motorhome, you must have with you:
Driver’s license for all drivers.
Renter’s credit card (with sufficient availability to charge Liability / Security Deposit)
Passport / I.D
The lessee/driver must be the same as the holder of the credit card used to pay the security deposit.
Is there a 24-hour check-in and check-out service available?
Yes.Although the time for all check-ins is from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm and check-outs are from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. But do not worry! If you need, you can check in and / or check out at any time of the day, this is subject to a variable rate of out of hours. E-mail us with your request.
Where can I pick-up in and drop of the campervan?
Check-in and check-out can be done at our headquarters or in the Lisbon,Porto or Faro airports.Also in all train or Bus stations in the country.
Usually a check-in / check-out in the hotel or in the city center will not be possible due to traffic and parking restrictions. However, in exceptional cases, do not hesitate to contact us.
What are the conditions of check-out of the campervans?
The campervan must be delivered in the same cleaning condition that has been picked-up, with the same level of fuel that was in the pick-up day, the tank of dirty water and the chemical cassette of the wc empty and in good conditions of cleaning, being charged a fee in case this is not verified.
What happens if I’m late for the check-out?
Firstly, the delay should be transmitted via the call, as soon as possible. Alternative means of communication may be WhatsApp, Skype or Email. Subsequently, we will inform the operational officer of the case and apply a potential delay rate if the check-out is made out of our normal chec-out hours. If check-out will be done at an unplanned time, delays may occur.
What happens if I miss my flight or are postponed?
In case the check-in can not be done on the scheduled day due to delays, please contact us as soon as possible, once you know the situation. A refund of the days of reservation can not be made. However, we can help you find transportation and accommodation if necessary, depending on availability.
What driving license do I need to drive a Campervan?
To drive one of our Campervans, a category B driving license (the same as that required for a car) is required and the driver must be over 21 years of age.
Is there a minimum age to drive a Campervan?
The minimum age for driving a motorhome is 21 years. Drivers under the age of 25 need to hire an extra insurance package.
This extra insurance will lower the value of the € 1500 security deposit to € 900 or € 500 (with Extended or Premium Insurance, respectively), and protects against broken glass or punctured tires.
How many people can drive the Campervan?
From one to three drivers. Depending on the insurance contracted, the number of insured drivers changes. With basic insurance, only one driver is allowed. To add an extra driver, you can choose Extended insurance, and with Premium insurance you can add up to three drivers.
What should I do if I have to cancel my reservation?
If sadenly you have to cancel your reservation with us, please send us an email of the same e-mail account that you used for the reservation, confirming your name and dates. In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, we will cancel and refund any payments.
What if I want to change the data of my reservation?
A change of dates, check-in and check-out locations, motorhome types and other details will always depend on the momentary availability and will always be subject to approval by Portugal Surf Campers. Additional fees may apply, however we will always do our best to make our travelers happy! Do not hesitate to contact us if this is the case.
What is the upgrade policy?
We reserve the right to upgrade or allocate a similar camper model to your reservation.
